Currently I serve as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University. My doctoral work and current book project centers on the connection between electrification and colonialism in New Zealand and the broader British Empire.

In addition to publication stemming from that work, I am slowly conducting research on the international expansion of Ormat Geothermal technologies into New Zealand and Kenya and the introduction and reception of the electric chair into the British Empire.

My research interests include energy history, colonial history, technology and ethics, medical technology, and women and gender studies.
